The Prato della Valle (meaning valley meadow) is the biggest square in Italy and is the second biggest in all of Europe. It was originally built for horse races similar to the famous Palio di Siena. It looks really beautiful but is hard to capture by camera. See the image below for one taken from the sky. The Prato is about a 15 mintue walk from my new homestay appartment. When I was there I sketched one of the little bridges with a building behind it. See next post for a photo of it!

Unfortunately I was too busy finishing Liza's sweater to have time to visit the Basilica, can you Liza,
do it for and take the pictures if possible?
I loved Padua the most as city and agree with Liza's reasons for liking
it: clean, big enough to feel like living in real city, small enough to be able to reach places in reasonable amount of time by bike or walking,
old but still cozy and people live
there and dress up how Italian suppose to, specifically shoes,
high heels on cobble stone....
I love it, it rejuvenate my fashion
appetite.
Basically that comment would better be in story about "why Padua?"
Liza, please keep writing.
thanks
